Hoke Poke

Dominion Construction Partners (DCP) has partnered with a young, energetic entrepreneur to help him realize his vision to bring the Poke bowl phenomenon to Richmond.

Hoke Poke is a Los Angeles-based franchise, and Richmond’s Short Pump area is the hot franchise’s first location in the entire Southeast. The franchise owner, a Richmond native, was determined that his first location would personalize the brand’s laid-back LA vibe for the Richmond market.

He chose DCP to help him realize his dream. DCP managed the construction of the build-out, working as a team with the owner and the architect. Together, we were able to value-engineer the project to complete the job on schedule, within budget, and without a hitch.

Project Highlights

  • Expanding popular LA dining concept to new market. Expanding popular LA dining concept to new markets. Hoke Poke is a fast-casual restaurant featuring built-to-order sushi bowls. The client wanted to make sure the concept carried the excitement of its west-coast origins, personalized for Richmond, in this first east-coast location. DCP, thanks to our extensive restaurant experience, was able to seamlessly translate the client’s vision for the new location.
  • Urban vibe in a suburban setting. Urban vibe in a suburban setting. The owner found a great location: The Corner at Short Pump — Lauderdale Drive and Broad Street, across from Short Pump Town Center. Using reclaimed wood and industrial accents, DCP continues to bring a hip urban feel to suburban locations around Richmond.
  • Complete build-out of existing retail shell. Complete build-out of existing retail shell. DCP was able to transform the empty retail space into an efficient and engaging restaurant. While the look and feel of the space is very important to the client, just as important is staying on budget and managing deadlines. Our build-out completely transformed the space, bringing distinct Richmond flair to Hoke Poke’s laid-back LA branding.
