Pies & Pints
Dominion Construction Partners (DCP) has completed the renovation of the circa 1915 building at 2305 West Broad Street. This custom renovation for Pies & Pints continues the transformation of Broad Street between Hermitage and Boulevard. The restaurant space, which is near the corner of Allison and Broad streets and across from the former Pleasants Hardware, will have a roll-up front window, a large patio and a beer garden.
Pies & Pints is a restaurant chain based out of West Virginia, with locations in Ohio, Alabama, Kentucky, and now, Virginia. Featuring craft beers and pizza, Pies & Pints is known for winning awards across the country — including “top 20 pizza places in the country”.
The Richmond restaurant is the 14th location for this 15-year-old franchise, and the first Virginia location. The site presented some unique opportunities that DCP helped the client navigate. Our expertise was critical in taking maximum advantage of the site’s location in a Richmond “enterprise zone”, as well as managing the complex permitting required.
- Historic reuse in Midtown. This section of Broad Street is undergoing revitalization, presenting a rare opportunity to build out a large space with street frontage on Broad. The site of the highly anticipated Sauer’s Center Development sits just feet from the front door of this property. What’s more, the rising residential population in Scott’ s Addition & Downtown creates the perfect environment for the rehabilitation of this historic building.
- Buildout creates functionality, enhances streetscape. DCP created a “biergarten” feel in this empty retail space, adding reclaimed wood, an outdoor patio area, and an open-plan pizza kitchen and craft beer pub. The result is an important contribution to the ongoing transformation of this part of Richmond. While the look and feel of the space is very important to the client, just as important is staying on budget and managing deadlines.
- Helping a growing business expand into larger markets. Success with Pies & Pints is based on understanding their business model along with our knowledge of the restaurant’s brand personality and our vast experience with restaurant construction. As the chain seeks out further expansion opportunities in the Southeast, DCP is well equipped to help them grow through well-managed, cost-efficient build-outs.
